Dressing Your Bump (Part III)
Dressing for the third trimester can be challenging as your tummy is big and you may find it difficult to find flattering outfits. Still, there are ways to keep your dressing interesting.
The challenge: How can I dress comfortably as my tummy gets bigger?
Suggestion: Wear looser clothes such as flared dresses. Try an Empire-waisted maxi dress. Pair tunics over leggings for a comfortable yet stylish look. Ruched tops are flattering as are ruched dresses. Ruching means the sides are stitched up with elastic and the outfit bunches up across your stomach, making room for your bump. As your skin may be extra sensitive, look for clothes made in soft, natural fabrics. Swop your heels for comfortable pumps.
The challenge: My wardrobe consists mainly of black and grey outfits as they are slimming and easy to match. How do I dress them up?
Suggestion: Going monochromatic can make you look taller. Dress up your outfits with stylish accessories such as a signature necklace or earrings, a cardigan or scarf in a bold colour or funky pattern. Be bold: Opt for animal-print bags or a chunky necklace to add fun and drama to your dressing. Check out Spring Maternity’s teething jewellery (which are safe for baby and can double up as an accessory).
The challenge: What are one or two things I can buy which I can continue to use after pregnancy?
All of Spring Maternity’s clothes can be used beyond nursing and when you regain your figure.
