Takara Standard

Established in 1912, Takara Standard is a pioneer in Japan’s vitreous enamel industry. Created in the age of Egypt’s Tutankhamen and passed down through the ages, enamel has had a long and variegated history. It is made by fusing vitreous glaze onto metal, thereby merging the strength of metal with the beauty of glass. Enamel is also an eco-friendly material as it does not contain hazardous materials such as formaldehyde.

Through years of R&D, Takara Standard has developed high-grade enamel that takes full advantage of this material’s properties including the development of the world’s first enameled kitchen unit in 1962.  Today, Takara Standard kitchens are fitted with high quality enamel coated surfaces, making the surfaces strong, durable and resistant to water, heat and chemicals.
