3 essentials to pack for Chinese New Year outing with baby
Chinese New Year is the time to celebrate with family and friends. While it’s a season of bonding, visiting your loved ones can be challenging with a little one (especially if it’s your first time). Here are some quick tips for your consideration to help make this festive season more enjoyable and stress-free.
1) Meal times and snacks
We are all looking forward to the scrumptious steamboat meals and those melt in your mouth pineapple tarts. But of course, we are not forgetting our toddler’s meals as well!
Prepare baby’s meal beforehand at home and store them in a well-insulated food jar that will keep it warm and fresh for her mealtime, as your host may not have suitable meals for your little one. If you are under a time-crunch, you can consider packing ready meals that will make it that much simpler to serve your royal babies. Easy to eat snacks equipped with a resealable packaging will be great to beat the mid-day hunger pangs.
With all that feeding and travelling, cleaning up is the next thing to consider. Pack go-to-essentials such as oral wet wipes, bibs for baby and hand sanitizer to ease the after mealtime clean up.
While family and friends may be a great entertainment for your toddler, having some form of activity or toys for them may be a good idea. These may come in handy for the car journey or for when a family member is taking care of your baby while you are having your meal.
Above all, soak in the festivities and embrace all the cooing and love that will be coming baby’s way. Here’s wishing you a Happy Chinese New Year!
